While I definitely love me some fiction (see evidence here, and here, oh and here, too), I want to share the love here on Lit Knit Wit with some of my favorite non-fiction genres as well. I am a Lifestyle Nonfiction editor professionally, so I’m pretty picky about my Craft/DIY tutorial books, my cookbooks, my humor books, and so on. This sweet little knitting pattern book piqued my interest right from start–it has all of the pieces I love to include in the books I acquire (but rarely can, these special bits rack up production costs): paper-over-board hardcover binding, full color, fantastic photography, and adorable flourishes in the design. Ros Badger’s Creative Makers Simple Knitting looks to be exactly what I want in a craft book personally, as well: beautiful, engaging, and informative.
As the summer slowly fades into fall, I can’t wait to get one of these sweet projects on my needles! As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.
